How we started
Cabanojak is a family-owned and family-run small business. It was created from my late grandmother, Gigi’s ‘recipes. My late grandmother was born in Haiti and she was a visionary that innovated herself with everything that she did. She was always in the kitchen creating different recipes. That’s where on February 21, 2021 which was my grandmother’s birthday month I, Ketsia Jeanty-Pierre launched one of our Haitian culture signature drink called Cremas. Cabanojak’s name was created by using my husband Carl-Henry Pierre and our boys name. Ca is for my husband Carl and my son Ca’riel, Ba for my son Babas, No for my son Noah-Henry, Ja for my son Jacob and K for Ketsia. My husband and I added 1804 because that was the untold history of Haiti and the Haitian revolution, which was the most successful slave rebellion in history.
One thing that has not changed is our family culture. Cabanojak1804 is our passion, and from this passion comes our multigenerational vision to grow, do business ethically and empower our people.
